Fast Help for Dental Emergencies

Dental emergencies rarely happen at a convenient time. When you call, our team asks what happened, gets you in as quickly as possible during regular hours, and gives you advice on what to do until you arrive.

Because we provide a full range of general and cosmetic dentistry in one office, we can usually treat the problem the same day, from a root canal or tooth extraction to replacing a lost crown, so you don’t have to chase down another office.

You don’t need to be a current patient. Family members and friends with a dental emergency are welcome too. If you call outside office hours, listen to our recorded message for emergency instructions.

What to Do in a Dental Emergency

  1. 1

    Knocked-out tooth

Pick it up by the crown, not the root. Keep it moist: put it back in the socket if you can, or hold it in milk or between your cheek and gum, and call us right away.

  2. 2

    Broken or cracked tooth

Rinse with warm water and use a cold compress on your face to reduce swelling.

  3. 3

    Toothache

Rinse with warm water and gently floss to remove trapped food. Don’t put aspirin on the tooth or gums.

  4. 4

    Something stuck between teeth

Try to remove it gently with floss. Never use a sharp or pointed object.

Where to go

Emergency Dentist or Emergency Room?

Call us first for tooth pain, broken teeth and lost restorations. Go to the hospital emergency room right away if you have:

Facial swelling affecting breathing or swallowing

Spreading swelling can be a sign of a serious infection.

Uncontrolled bleeding

Bleeding that won’t stop after firm pressure.

Jaw or facial fracture

Trauma from an accident or fall that may involve the jaw.

  • My fiance came a week ago, I had my appointment yesterday. Very professional, not a long wait at all. They were very informative, doing things the right way. I actually hate going to the dentist but this wasn't bad at all. Everyone is super polite and welcoming.
